ICAA-OSB Family Business Summit 2019

International College Alumni Association (ICAA) and the Olayan School of Business (OSB) worked on a new partnership with the objective to launch a series of Business and Entrepreneurship Summits, targeted for ICAA members and co-directed by OSB. The main objective of these summits was to expose the ICAA business community to “best practices” that could help them maintain scale and sustain socially responsible, scalable and entrepreneurial businesses.

The first topic of that series was Family Business, which aimed to rewire the thinking of participants towards the exponential value of collective work as they engaged in multiple-topic discussions and case studies. The 2-day summit focused on some hot topics of interest to Family Business owners and executives and spanned over a wide array of subjects (Family business heterogeneity, how to stand out in a volatile market, succession planning, how to raise a good shareholder, Corporate Governance, the financial strains specific to family businesses.

The summit generated a total amount of $31,000 that will go to support underprivileged IC students for their university studies at OSB. Random acts of support will surely resonate. If we see IC as a beacon of hope, AUB is its safe harbour.

This is what the IC spirit is all about! Keep the IC spirit!..
